What can you do?
We would like everyone who shares our concerns to write to Michael Russell, the Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, to ask for clarification on the government’s position on the teaching of creationism, in all its guises, in science classrooms. We would also like you to write to Learning and Teaching Scotland, to ask for them to make it explicitly clear that there is no place for creationism in science.
Below are two letters which you can reproduce, or use as inspiration, and the addresses to which they should be sent. We would ask that, if possible, you print the letters and send them by post, but e-mail is satisfactory if this is not possible. MS Word document files for the letters are also provided for download.
