The attitude of the headteacher was very telling - totally unwilling to definitively say how old he thought the Earth was. Anyone would think creationists were either ashamed of their views or they know they're not acceptable.
I got quite angry watching this thinking "There's a whole load of kids who'll never go onto doing anything worthwhile unless they can break their brainwashing."
In fact I think that is a very telling response - I have seen it several times with creationists - perhaps some part of them really does realise just how far out and how silly this "belief" is.

I have asked the CST which materials they use to teach science and they wouldn't tell me. I wonder why.
